What makes Nature Camps so unique?

Some people say it's our mixed-age grouping.

Some people say it's that Nature Camps provides a child with the time and place in which to wonder about all kinds of things ordinarily skipped over in a child's busy day.

Some people say it's our Family Overnights and Concerts.

Learn more about these unique aspects of Nature Camps:

Nature Camps arranges groups using a mixed-age philosophy. The intimacy of a mixed age atmosphere (5-12) resembles a family. This is just one more way in which Nature Camps is a family-based organization.

In this relaxed atmosphere, high levels of aspiration are encouraged naturally; the discouragement is taken out of failures, as there is the joy of cooperative effort, and the reinforcement of skills when children coach one another. They are teachers as well as well as learners.

Nature Camps takes time to Wonder About Dandelions. In a safe and quiet, wonder-filled atmosphere, children are inspired to ask questions and learn about all aspects of nature. See what happens when children look at dandelions in a whole new light.

Nature Camps invites parents and extended family to our Family Overnights and Concerts. Parents often ask us how they can get a taste of the magic which their children experience on a daily basis. So Nature Camps offers our Family Overnights and Concerts. Families are invited to share an afternoon, evening, overnight, and early morning of a day at Nature Camps. Children and families have the opportunity to join in the evening family adventures: swimming (lighted pool), family games, Concert, Adventure Challenge Course, crafts, night walks, campfire, and singing.
