Director's Message:

This autumn I have delighted in the long budding and blossoming of my irises and daisies. The gentle moisture coming up from the Susquehanna River has slowly nurtured this along. Through correspondences I have been touched by the myriad of autumn adventures, and other growing times, of Nature Camps' counselors and Teen Adventure teens.

All of these growings remind me of a phrase of Georgia O'Keefe's.

Take a Flower in Your Hand

Where in the World are NC Counselors?

During the summer camp season, NC counselors come from all over to provide your child with the unique and high quality experience you've come to expect.

Teen Adventure Day

On Sunday, October 18, there was a Teen Adventure Explorer Day at Don's home Deer Creek in Harford County. Approximately thirty five TA Explorers, parents, past and current NC staff came for an afternoon and early evening of hiking, sharing a vegetarian potluck dinner, playing musical instruments and singing, exploring Don's home, and making s'mores outside.

In addition to the remarkable teens, the day was made special with many parents sharing themselves, AND Jen Goff (past Co-Director for seven years), who came with her darling three month old twins!

Several staff were home from college -- Allie and Joe from NYU and Grace from Warren Wilson College. Other staff present were Rachael, Sarah Jennings, Heidi, Renee, and NC's webmaster (and TA Mom) Julie Simon.

All enjoyed sharing the song Wagon Wheel.
