Director's
Message
This summer's counselors are
another remarkable blend of experienced young women and men.
They are about to gather together for eight and half days
and six nights of intense staff development and training
and work projects. The delightful fellowship and learning
that comes from these days and nights is eagerly anticipated
by all.
The quality of each and every NC staff member continues to
distinguish Nature Camps from all other experiential, adventure
based, sensory awareness driven programs. In addition to
bringing outdoor education knowledge and skills they bring
forth a deep respect for the inestimable worth of everyone.
They feel and impart awe, humility and hope. That feeling
continues to be my wish for children and their parents each
summertime at Nature Camps.
For reflections from past
counselors I invite you to read
their thoughts and feelings.
I welcome everyone to another remarkable summertime -- where
children, parents, and staff will explore the 230 acres of
conservancy woodlands, fields, streams.
Lastly, I encourage you to share with others the uniqueness
of Nature Camps' environmental and adventure-based programs.

Honey Bees Find a New Home
The honey bees that established a home during the past two years
in the lodge wall have been moved to a bee hive in Harford County.
We at Nature Camps will miss the ever-active bees!

Nature Camps Open
House
The Nature Camps Open House was a fun day that welcomed many. Families
enjoyed the campfire built by Renee O'neill, trips to the Adventure
Ropes Course, swinging on the swings, and chatting with Don, counselors,
other parents, and children.
One child asked her mother when they were leaving. The mom said, "In
a few minutes." The child promptly asked if they could stay
five more hours!
What a joy it was to get an early taste of the peaceful woods of
Nature Camps! |

Towson University's Field Station Grand Opening
A well attended and successful Open House occurred this May.
Susie and Al Henneman, Towson Alumni and camp property owners, were
honored as was Don Forester, Professor and Director of the new Field
Station. The continued remarkable environmental stewardship and humanitarian
deeds of the Hennemans were poignantly recognized.
