Another Kind of Peace
When we contemplate the beauty of the earth we find reserves of strength and peace that will endure forever. The endless woods, the meandering streams - with all their interesting sounds, and delightful places to explore - bring forth an enchanted peaceful place for everyone at Nature Camp.
Outdoor under blue skies or singing in the rain, everyone soaks up the beauty of nature, and of one another. We continue to wish for each person an enduring sense of wonder, and a lifelong instinct for the beauty and magic that is all about us in the natural world - bringing forth refreshing peacefulness.
Winnie-the-Pooh describes the peaceful feeling this way: “Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.”
NC continues to be such a gentle, peaceful place, where children and adults delight in mutual learnings and knowings - whether during the day, or on our Family Overnights & Concerts-In-The-Woods
Tomorrow is Forever
As a child, I vividly remember that each day of the summer seemed endless. The richness of the things we did as children were so much fun and exciting. My parents and relatives allowed us to explore and discover nature, ride our bikes, and play games. In so doing we were discovering ourselves. It seemed like tomorrow was forever.

Some Openings Still Available
We offer the Camper Program for children ages 5-12. In a mixed-age learning environment, children choose their own activities -- Adventure Ropes Course, swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, nature crafts, carving & whittling, hiking, Nature Journaling, stream exploring, singing, bicycling, new games, Family Overnights and Concerts, etc.
Teen Adventure is for teens 13-16, and offers a four week program of hiking, biking, white water rafting, community service learning, and more! Two weeks are spent at Nature Camps , and two five-day away trips take teens to a local farm and to the Appalachian Trail.
Camp Wonder, for 4-year olds, is a program designed to be a miniature version of our camper program -- at the relaxed pace of a four-year-old!
Camp Little Feet is for toddlers, aged 2-1/2 to 4, and provides a unique opportunity for the parent and child to explore nature as only toddlers can do -- one wonder at a time.
So, whatever the age of your child, and whatever your summertime schedule brings, Nature Camps has a program just for you!

2012 Calendar
Please check out the 2012 calendar. Be sure to reserve your child’s space as soon as possible to ensure you get the sessions you want. It is important that children attend both consecutive weeks of a session (all four consecutive weeks for TA), in order to maintain the continuity of Nature Camps programming. Once children have come for their first full session, they can always add a week, after that.
