ADVENTURE CHALLENGE COURSE Nature Camps’ Challenge Course consists of a circle of unique obstacles that children cross over and through – strengthening children’s self-confidence. These are all “low elements”, keeping in line with our risk management guidelines, while at the same time presenting challenging opportunities. Up the hill from the Challenge Course are group problem-solving areas that also require mental, social, and physical dexterity to overcome. Working with NC certified facilitators, children have the opportunity to match their individual and group goals with the extensive options available. Some of the potential benefits of participating in NC’s Adventure Challenge Course include building respect, trust, team building, increased communication skills, conflict resolution, enhancing self-esteem, empathy, as well as learning solution focused techniques, and Challenge By Choice* philosophy. Each year new elements are added to the Lower and Upper Challenge Courses.
Challenge and adventure activities are an opportunity for participants to experience growth, and as such should be the result of an invitation, rather than a requirement. Autumn in the Woods 2010 |
