EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

The word experientia comes from the Latin for: “conscious learning for life derived from purposeful reflection on direct participation in action events.”

Experiential Education is a process through which a learner constructs knowledge, skill, and value from direct experience.

Experiential Educators include teachers, camp counselors, corporate team builders, therapists, challenge course practitioners, environmental educators, guides, instructors, coaches, mental health professionals . . . anyone who teaches through experience.
