PEACE AND SECURITY

NC's 240 acres is self-contained with one entrance leading to base camp. Only camp children, camp parents, and camp staff are on the premises. One of the two Directors, licenced medical personnel, an assigned Lead Counselor, and Counselors working on projects in the area, monitor the area around the Lodge adjacent to the dirt road.

NC prides itself on having a different kind of structured program, guiding children in their delight of choosing what they want to do each morning and afternoon (from the day's Activity List). There are always two Counselors, on away activities.

One of the two Directors, certified Wilderness First Aid personnel, an assigned Lead Counselor, and Counselors working on projects in the area, monitor the area around the Lodge adjacent to the dirt road.

As stressed throughout the NC brochure and on our web site, Nature Camps is a family based facility, welcoming parents and relatives to participate whenever possible. This is especially true on our Family Overnight and Concert evenings, into the following day's activities.

Another Kind of Peace

When we contemplate the beauty of the earth we find reserves of strength and peace that will endure forever. The endless woods, the meandering streams — with all their interesting sounds, and delightful places to explore — bring forth an enchanted peaceful place for everyone at Nature Camp. Outdoor under blue skies or singing in the rain, everyone soaks up the beauty of nature, and of one another. We continue to wish for each person an enduring sense of wonder, and a lifelong instinct for the beauty and magic that is all about us in the natural world — bringing forth refreshing peacefulness.

Winnie-the-Pooh describes the peaceful feeling this way: Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.

NC continues to be such a gentle, peaceful place, where children and adults delight in mutual learnings and knowings — whether during the day, or on our Family Overnights & Concerts.

Our camping programs continue to be an upward spiral of energy and creativity, building upon the strengths and joys that children and their families bring to us. They are the threads that run so true. We take these wonderful building blocks and add a solution-focused approach to all that is done at NC.
