Medical Coordinator

Location: Monkton, Maryland

​Age: 21+

Relevant work experience required

 

Responsibilities: Organize camp medical corner, order supplies, dispense medication, maintain Medical Log book, and track children with medical and other individual health and wellness needs. Organizes work during part of the Staff Training week.

This position offers full summer employment and required staff trainings with overnights.

Special training required:

  • Medication Administration Training - 6 hours

Ropes Course Instructor

 

Outdoor educator to work in a mixed-aged learning environment (ages 4 - 16)

Location: Monkton, Maryland

Age: 18+

 

Responsibilities: Overseeing Staff training (experienced Facilitator and Initiatives Leader).

Maintenance.

 

Co-plan and leading New Games and initiatives skilled. Ropes Course experienced. WFA certified.

Education: 1+ year of college (or equivalent)

Experience working with children in educational, outdoor, and/or community setting

Counselors

 

Counselor - Camper Program

Outdoor educator to work in a mixed-aged learning environment (ages 4 - 16)

Location: Monkton, Maryland

​Age: 18+

 

Responsibilities: Co-plan and lead daily outdoor activities rain or shine, attend daily staff meetings, follow health and safety rules and practices, collaborate with fellow counselors, leadership staff and administrative staff. More info about the Camper program is available here

Activities: Sensory awareness (acclimatization), natural crafts (carving, primitive technology, pottery, weaving, making cordage, macrame, bamboo flutes, pea shooters, nature journaling (writing and drawing), canoeing, lifeguarding, fire building, survival (orienteering, outdoor cooking, etc.), hiking, leading songs, ropes course certified, New Games and initiatives skilled. WFA certified.
Education: 1+ year of college (or equivalent)

Counselor - Explorer Program

Outdoor educator to work in a mixed-aged learning

environment (ages 4 - 16) with additional responsibilities

working with 12-13 year olds in the Explorer program.

Location: Monkton, Maryland

Age: 18+

Responsibilities: Work both as regular day camp counselors during each camp day with 4-16 year olds and as leaders for the Explorer program on one overnight weekly with Explorers who are ages 12-13. Explorer Counselors stay after the camp day is over with the 12-13 year olds guiding them to become involved in group projects and activities, as well as solo acclimatization (environmental sensory awareness) activities, and the planning and cooking of meals. Counselor - Teen Adventure (TA) Trip Leader

Age: 18+

Responsibilities: Co-planning and leading teens (ages 14-16) on seven 5-day trips away from camp in addition to Counselor responsibilities at day camp creating and leading activities with children (4-16). TA Staff need to be WFA/WFR certified. More information about the Teen Adventure program and trip details is available here.
