Nature Camps has a new home!
New Location, Same Wonder-filled Camp Experience
A Message from our Founder:
We have a beautiful new location - Camp Hidden Valley at Deer Creek Preserve - in White Hall, Maryland. The facilities are a huge upgrade from Nature Camps' former home. There is a state of the art pool, large pavilion with fire pit, large stage with amphitheater seating for our Concerts in the Woods on Family Overnights, stunning Lodge with room for all during inclement weather, wooden platforms and large spaces for family tenting, and 180 acres of "certified woodland preserve" backing on Deer Creek and the Hidden Valley Area of Rocks State Park. Our hiking explorations will indeed be endless, extensive and varied!
I am most pleased to introduce Melissa Shaull-Thompson as Nature Camps' Educational Director and Administrator. She has a stunning professional and experiential education background. As Melissa writes in her Leadership biography, she "looks forward to ensuring Nature Camps continues to thrive - providing a haven for young people eager to embrace the joys and restorative power of nature. She knows that our children need Nature Camps more today than ever before and is honored to be able to share this magical place with a new generation."
I also wish to give a shout out to Jen Goff (who has been Nature Camps' Administrator, NC Staff Support person and more!) for almost two and a half decades. With heartfelt appreciation and delight do I honor and thank Jen. I sense she and her teenage twins will be a presence still at Nature Camps.
With Nature Camps' motto "Adventures for Children and Families" in mind, I welcome everyone to Nature Camps - this summer and for decades to come.
I encourage all to take advantage of the Early Bluebird Discount that extends through March 15.
